The new programme will be formally launched after Agriculture and Rural Development Day (ARDD) in Cancún, Mexico. CCAFS is a strategic partnership between the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR Consortium Research Programme 7) and the Earth Systems Science Partnership (ESSP).

Speakers will include:

- Inger Andersen, CGIAR Fund Council Chair & Vice President Sustainable Development, World Bank
- Lloyd Le Page, CGIAR Consortium Chief Executive Officer
- Diana Liverman, University of Arizona, ESSP
- Bruce Campbell, Director, Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS)
