Fostering the engagement of the agri-food sector in climate resilience
The workshop “Fostering the engagement of the agri-food sector in resilience to climate change” will take place on 29-31 October in Geneva, Switzerland. It is organized by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat, under the guidance of the UNFCCC Adaptation Committee, and will address the climate resilience of the agri-food sector through three thematic plenary sessions and accompanying mini workshops and open labs:
- Assessing climate risks in the agri-food sector and preparing adaptation strategies
- Implementing adaptation strategies, with a focus on SMEs, in the agri-food sector through accessing finance, technology, public-private Partnerships and capacity building
- Designing policies and incentives for private sector investment in adaptation, including for formulating and implementing National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement
The event will be attended by participants from large and small business, governments, academia, civil society, development banks and bilateral technical cooperation agencies and experts interested in fostering climate adaptation in the private sector.
