Fostering stable and resilient communities in a changing world
Communities are faced with an increasingly complex set of challenges: from looming long-term issues such as climate change, environmental degradation, food insecurity, and poverty, to unexpected shocks, such as political turmoil, natural disaster, and armed conflict.
The PCR Project and the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance hosted a discussion of how to foster stable communities, at home and abroad, prepared to meet and recover from disasters. Speakers represented different vantage points from within the U.S. government.
