New Civil Engineer’s flood management conference 2010 will provide critical updates on policy and assess the future of flood strategy in the light of new legislation (Flood and Water Management Act and Flood Risk Regulations).

Case studies of best practice will look at how lead local flood authorities are being established across the UK. Topics will include long term impacts of climate change on coastal, fluvial and surface water flooding and innovation in engineering flood defence design and forecasting techniques. There will also be a post-conference workshop on the multi-agency approach on 18 November.
