North American drought monitor forum and global drought assessment workshop organizers
This workshop is being designed to cover the range of drought monitoring, assessment, prediction, and early warning issues relevant to international collaboration on a broad scale. It will consist of a series of sessions and concurrent workshops which address:
- Biennial North American Drought Monitor Forum - technical and administrative issues specific to the NADM;
- NADM activities in the context of broader international drought monitoring and assessment activities;
- A review of international regional drought monitoring and collaboration activities;
- Discussion of international regional early warning systems, both existing and prototype testbeds; and
- Establishment of an international drought clearinghouse and the establishment of the web services infrastructure for a global drought monitoring effort.
Attendance will be limited to 50 seats on a first come, first served basis.
