Saritsa Foundation celebrates international disaster reduction day in partnership with government of Maharashtra
Saritsa Foundation will celebrate United Nations’ (UN) International Day for Disaster Reduction and minimizing impacts of climate change in collaboration with Government of Maharashtra. It will be observed a month. It is significant to recognize the importance too encourage people and government to participate in building more resilient communities. Saritsa Foundation observes the day every year.
Saritsa Foundation will be organizing the following events from 26 September to 15 October in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra.
1. Workshops for college youth- NSS Volunteers. (In collaboration with Collector Thane )
2. A debate competition for School Students . Student speakers of 50 schools will take part. Speakers shall be awarded 3 prizes and issued certificates.
3. A workshop for visually impaired persons of National Association for Blinds.
4. A workshop for women health workers of hospitals.
This day offers an opportunity to focus national attention on this important issue and to raise awareness of people to make disaster management and adaptation to climate change people centered and people owned. It involves mainstreaming of school children, youth, women, disabled and the common citizens to inspire them to be equal partners to develop safety culture.
