According to the article, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 has set measureable targets, unlike previous voluntary agreements. For it to succeed, an open and comprehensive source of vetted information on disaster-risk reduction is needed. Cutter and colleagues maintain that knowledge transfer will make community-based resilience efforts possible. Illuminating findings, best practices and state-of-the-art modelling must become part of the evidence-based strategy for disaster-risk reduction.
