The conclusions of the 15th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting have been adopted through a document which calls for countries to improve their disaster preparedness and response capacities with a special focus on employment and social policies to address natural disasters and reconstruction, reports the Mainichi Daily News. The document emphasizes that employment and social protection are essential to the pursuit of economic, social and environmental sustainability in the region.
