India: 'Environmental assessment authority to be set up'

The government will set up an environmental assessment and monitoring authority to streamline the process of environmental clearances, according to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, reports Zee News. 'Speaking about the climate change mitigation and adaptation measures', the PM also referred to eight missions on climate change.
