Kenya: UN recommends allocating 1% of budget for disaster reduction

"The recommendation is that at least one percent of the national development budget should be invested in prevention and if a country begins to see the benefits I'm sure this would increase" said Margareta Wahlström, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction, during a recent visit to the country.
