
Seventy rain gauges are being installed in the Philippines by The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in order to to improve the country’s flood forecasting system reports the Manila Bulletin. "Rainfall data monitoring is very crucial in the operation of all meteorological services like PAGASA all over the world. The data gathered are utilized in the formulation of weather and flood forecasting and warnings," PAGASA Administrator Dr. Nathaniel T. Servando explained.
