After the typhoon 'Pedring' hit the Philippines on 27 September, the Pasay City government declared that the city residents living in flood-prone areas were saved thanks to a prevention programme. It was led by Mayor Antonino Calixto who directed the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction Council according to the Manila Bulletin.
