The World Economic Forum launched the seventh edition of the Global Risks report, calling for a flexible response to major crises based on lessons learned from the earthquake and tsunami that devastated northeastern Japan last March. According to the Mainichi Daily News, the report dedicates a special section to the worldwide effects of the disaster and the ensuing nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant. It emphasizes the "importance of flexibility and resilience in response structures," giving an example of quickly resumed business after the disaster thanks to networked preparedness. The document will serve as material for discussions during the think tank's annual meeting starting Jan. 25 in the Swiss resort of Davos.
