Asia-Pacific Action Plan 2021-2024 for Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030
Based on the progress made thus far, this new Action Plan 2021-2024 aims to accelerate Asia-Pacific's transformation to risk-informed development, by treating disaster risk reduction as a cross-cutting theme and by increasing investment in prevention, risk reduction, climate change adaptation and anticipatory approaches to enhance resilience. The plan identifies actions needed at three levels: regional, national, and local.
The Action Plan is structured to reflect the four priorities of the Sendai Framework, namely:
- Understanding disaster risk.
- Strengthening disaster risk governance to manage disaster risk.
- Investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience.
- Enhancing disaster preparedness for effective response and to ‘build back better’ in recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction.
