This issue addresses floods as among the most destructive natural hazards causing extensive damage to infrastructure, public and private services, the environment, the economy and devastation to human settlements. It advocates for better preparedness at national, provincial and local levels to make sure that appropriate and effective response measures are taken during flood emergency to minimize the loss of lives and properties. By presenting flood preparedness planning, it aims to put in place a set of appropriate arrangements in advance for an effective response to floods.
