Chile: Plan nacional de adaptación al cambio climático
The national plan for adapting to climate change is constituted as the articulating instrument of Chilean public policy of adaptation to climate change, whose mission has been defined as:
To strengthen Chile's capacity to adapt to climate change by deepening the knowledge of its impacts and the vulnerability of the country. To generate planned actions allowing minimization of the negative effects and taking advantage of positive effects to its economic and social development, whilst ensuring its sustainability.
This plan delivers the guidelines for adaptation in Chile and provides the operational structure for the coordination and coherence of the actions of different sectors and different territorial administrative levels. It considers that the adaptation can be carried out at the level of a specific sector, at a multisectoral level, at the regional level and in a transversal way.
