Community managed disaster risk reduction (CMDRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) in Malawi: case study
This paper shares the key activities and results of a Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR) programme integrating climate change adaptation in Malawi and aiming at obtaining the following: (i) to increase the knowledge on CMDRR of the population of 76 communities, and of approximately 25 staff in total of Episcopal Conference of Malawi (of three commissions), in all 7 dioceses of Malawi; (ii) to mitigate disasters and improve the livelihood in 76 communities (for about 6840 households in total); and (iii) to establish a national data bank for CMDRR monitoring, planning and documentation at partner level.
