Compendium of IOM's activities in migration, climate change and the environment
This compendium aims to identify emerging trends, raise awareness, and work towards innovative solutions that are sensitive to specific local conditions regarding the consequences of climate change for migration. The compendium is comprised of two main parts: (i) part one presents an overview of the International Organization for Migration's (IOM) roles in the area of migration, climate change and the environment, with an analysis of current trends and an analytical summary of the diverse and valuable lessons learned from hands-on project implementation, and (ii) part two is a compilation of 28 country programme profiles, each offering a concise description of the environmental challenges faced by a given country, followed by the IOM programmatic responses and lessons learned. The compendium also includes a number of project proposals, representing a new generation of initiatives addressing issues of migration, climate change and the environment.
