Climate change speaks through the weather, which is different from what humanity is used to. Normal no longer exists. This issue looks back past, present and future. Deltares considers uncertainties, such as climate change and how this challenge is tackled in New Zealand (interview with professor Judy Lawrence). Also considered are the global challenges in climate action with interviews with IPCC Working Group II's co-chairs. This issue also looks at ageing infrastructure, such as the 68 year old Roggebot Lock, to see what lessons can be learned from the past. Based on old parts, this issue aims to garner new knowledge about life expectancy.
