Displacement and migration from climate hot-spots in Bangladesh: causes and consequences
This report describes a study that aims to understand the causes and consequences of displacement and migration triggered by climate change, and to raise awareness about this issue amongst policy makers, development practitioners, academics and other stakeholders.
The report is comprised of nine sections which define the study, explain the methodology, assess climate change in the context of Bangladesh, and analyze climate-related displacement and migration. Using the data collected, the report addresses the problems related to displacement and migration, and suggests policy revisions to mitigate the inherent problems within broader socio-political, economic and environmental contexts.
