This report summarises lessons learnt from the Y Care International supported Myanmar YMCA project to carry out community-based disaster risk reduction (DRR) activities in the Townships of Einme and Ngapudaw in the Ayeyarwady Region of Myanmar in 2013. The project aimed to create a culture of learning around DRR, facilitated through young volunteers recruited from the local YMCA branch in Pathein who organised training sessions for community members. The training sessions were well received and provide a good example of peer education, engaging and collaborating with other organisations, as well as using innovative and interactive training methods through the use of a mobile training truck.
