This training module on flood risk mitigation and management is a five-day programme developed for senior and middle level officers from various sectors of central and state governments. It primarily focuses on enhancement of knowledge and skills of the participants to understand and respond to various issues in flood mitigation and management. The reading material, the select bibliography, glossary and the select web links on flood will enable facilitators to adequately equip themselves in conducting training courses more effectively.

The module has five sub-modules that impart information and skills in flood problem analysis, understanding and appreciating various aspects of flood disaster management:
