This map illustrates the Horn of Africa's risk of locust infestation.

Due to the limited geographic extent of this hazard, the distribution of risk is very similar to the distribution of annual probability. The impact on agricultural output of locust infestations appears to be partially mitigated by relatively smaller percentages of agricultural land usage in the historical regions of infestation.
