How to build a climate story
‘How to build a climate story’ is written as a practical guide for climate adaptation practitioners who wish to test storytelling within their own research communication. Climate stories use storytelling to communicate topics related to climate change. For many, climate change feels abstract, distant, and complex, making it difficult to inform, educate, or engage them in a way that truly connects.
Storytelling makes it possible to communicate complex scientific data, model results, and knowledge to the intended audience. This approach helps to ‘bridge the gap’ between science and society. Although provided as an appendix to the deliverable, this manual will also be released as a stand-alone document as a part of ensuring the legacy of the REACHOUT project and the work on climate stories.
