This pilot brief no. 3 presents four pilot projects aiming at mainstreaming disaster risk reduction into long term policies, programs and practices supported by the Advanced Centre for Enabling Disaster Risk Reduction (ACEDRR) at Tata-Dhan Academy. It intends to demonstrate that by looking through a disaster lens, self-help groups for microfinance can take a number of creative steps to institutionalize disaster risk reduction activities, both in their own work and by communicating the importance of these activities to the people they serve.
