NOAA climate service - questions and answers
This paper describes the NOAA climate service as a comprehensive and integrated office responsible for NOAA’s climate science, data, information and services. It aims to provide individuals, local and national governments and the private sector with weather information and services for them to be able to better understand, adapt to, and plan for a changing climate. It addresses different climate impact issue (e.g., water and other resource management, disaster risk reduction, community planning, public health) and intends to encourage collaboration on climate and related hazards and disasters between Federal, State, Tribal and other public and private agencies.
