Overview of the ARkStorm scenario

This report presents a winter storm scenario called ARkStorm (for Atmospheric River 1,000), the next major public project for the Multi Hazards Demonstration Project (MHDP), which uses hazards science to improve resiliency of communities to natural disasters including earthquakes, tsunamis, wildfires, landslides, floods and coastal erosion. This document summarizes the environmental effects, physical damages, economic and other losses in California as a result of the hypothetical flooding and high winds associated with the ARkStorm scenario.
