Queensland climate impacts and opportunities
This report aims to assess climate change related risks in Queensland, Australia. The findings of the report suggest that Queensland's agricultural industries as well as tourism are at risk from climate change. In addition, sea-level rise threatens Queenslander's property and lifestyle. Some of the hazards that the region has to take into account are increased temperatures; changes in the amount, intensity, seasonality and variability of rainfall; and changes in the frequency and/or intensity of extreme events such as droughts, bushfires and floods. The authors suggest that new risk management and adaptation strategies will be needed as the climate changes.
