Rapid risk assessment of acute public health events
This manual is designed for a risk assessment team to guide in conducting rapid risk assessments in acute public health events. The manual is comprised of six sections: (i) section one explains the purpose of the manual and the terminology used; (ii) section two explains the all-hazards approach and the detection and confirmation of a public health event; (iii) section three outlines clear steps of risk assessment, including how to assemble a risk assessment team, how to formulate risk questions, and how to carry out the assessment; (iv) section four explains how to use the assessment to chose the best control measures; (v) section five discusses the importance of risk communication; (vi) and section six describes monitoring and evaluation after the event.
