Reducing and managing the risk of disaster in Philippine jails and prisons
This policy brief provides Philippine stakeholders of jails/prisons management and disaster risk reduction with tangible evidence on how jails, prisons as well as inmates and prisoners deal with natural hazards and disasters. This set of evidence should be useful to inform policy and practice of disaster risk reduction and management at local, including at the level of each jail and prison, and national scales on both the short and long term.
The publication offers recommendations for the following issues:
- strengthening prevention;
- fostering mitigation;
- enhancing preparedness;
- reinforcing disaster management.
