Report on 2009-2010 Master's program 'Water-related risk management course of disaster management policy program'
This report details the activities and the achievements of a course aiming to foster solution-oriented practitioners with solid theoretical and engineering bases who can serve for planning and practices of flood management within the framework of integrated river basin management at all levels from nations to localities.
It reports on the one-year Master's program entitled the "Water-related Disaster Management Course of Disaster Management Policy Program" conducted by ICHARM from 28 September 2009 to 18 September 2010 in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS). The twelve students were mainly technical officials, engineers or researchers in the field of river management or water-related disasters in developing countries.
