Resilience in SMEs: New risks, new priorities
The objective of this assessment report is to identify the appropriate strategy to ensure the commitment of the private sector (mainly SMEs) to the principles and implementation of social resilience in Turkey, a country with a rapidly changing risk profile due to its numerous earthquakes, climatic events, and the Syrian crisis.
26 regional federations, 3 sectoral federations, 251 associations and more than 40,000 SMEs are currently members of the Turkish disaster risk reduction agency TURKONFED. Their presence in all emergency regions is ideal for the creation of this private sector-led national network for preparedness, response and recovery. Its objective is to ensure that business activities have both social resilience and greater competitiveness.
