A review of vulnerability, hazard and disasters in Southern Humla
This document is the report of a risk assessment performed by Mission East in 30 communities of a remote mountainous area of Nepal. The research concluded that in such areas, disaster events are highly under-reported (approximately two thirds), hence isolating further extremely vulnerable communities from national assistance.
In this context, this particular assessment enabled the collection of a large set of data for a precise analysis of the risk situation as well as laying the foundations for community-based disaster risk management action.
