From risk to resilience, working paper 9: understanding the costs and benefits of disaster risk reduction under changing climatic conditions
The purpose of this project on Risk to Resilience is to evaluate the costs and benefits of disaster risk reduction across a series of case areas in India, Nepal and Pakistan. The case studies on which this report is based demonstrate both the high economic returns that can be achieved by investing in risk reduction and the importance of methodologies for analyzing the viability of different approaches under often highly uncertain future conditions. Cost-benefit analysis is one such methodology.
