Spotlight Pakistan: Building community resilience through disaster risk reduction
This document highlights Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe's work in Pakistan as part of the organization's 60 years of work supporting people in need worldwide, regardless of their origin, religion, gender, age, or nationality. The organisation first came to Pakistan following the devastating earthquake of 2005 and is a strong advocate for integration of DRR and CBDRM into community-based projects. DRR is seen as an investment in the future of Pakistan, helping to strengthen resilience, reduce the level of risk to those most vulnerable and through empowerment promote sustainability.
