This paper presents the World Bank Urban Unit strategy to support South Asia countries through policy dialogue, lending, and analytical and advisory services in five priority areas: (i) decentralization and local governance; (ii) urban service delivery; (iii) urban poverty; (iv) urban planning, land, and housing; and (v) urban environment and disaster management, which considers the role of cities in the context of global climate change and the need for cities to expand and apply disaster prevention interventions to the urban context.
