°Õü°ù°ì¾±²â±ð: Disaster and emergency management strategic plan 2013-2017
The Disaster and Emergency Management Strategic Plan is a national plan covering the period 2013-2017, whose overall objective is to build a disaster resilient society. The Plan lays down goals, principles and objectives to be pursued by AFAD, which is an organization promoting rational utilization of resources in this multi-dimensional and multi-actor area and carrying out its activities on a multi-disciplinary basis. The integrated disaster management system adopted as the pillar of risk management by AFAD consists of four axes: 1) mitigation; 2) preparedness; 3) response; 4) recovery. With its vision, AFAD foresees to be an organization which is risk management oriented, having the importance of sustainable development, taking care of effectiveness, efficiency and reliability on service delivery, strong at the international level and coordinating effectively all organizations which are taking charge in disaster management.
According to AFAD’s disaster and emergency management policies, priority shall be given to the reduction of risks and damages, getting support from internal and external stakeholders for disaster and emergency management, as well as endeavours to ensure uninterrupted cooperation with all sorts of agencies and organizations that work in the field of disaster and emergency management and that engage in research and develop. The goals and specific objectives pursued by AFAD include: a) being a constantly developing and learning organization; b) establishing a risk-centred integrated disaster management system; c) generalizing disaster management standards.
