°Õü°ù°ì¾±²â±ð: Disaster Risk Reduction Plan of °Õü°ù°ì¾±²â±ð (TARAP) 2020
The Disaster Risk Reduction Plan of °Õü°ù°ì¾±²â±ð is a national policy covering the period between 2022 and 2030. The purposes of this policy are to: (I) prevent or minimize the physical, social, economic, environmental, psychological damages and losses that may be caused by disasters; (II) create resilient, safe, prepared, sustainable, disaster-resilient living environments; and (III) determine the basic principles of disaster risk reduction activities that should be prepared and implemented before a disaster. This policy applies to ministries, institutions and organizations, private sector, NGOs and real persons who will carry out risk reduction activities for disasters of all types and sizes that are likely to occur in °Õü°ù°ì¾±²â±ð.
This policy lays down strategic priorities which are (i) identification and evaluation of disaster risks; (ii) strengthening disaster risk governance; (iii) investing in risk reduction activities to build resilience; and (iv) 'building better than before' in disaster preparedness development and recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction for effective response.
