Tuvalu: Updated nationally determined contribution
In its update to its nationally determined contribution (NDC), Tuvalu commits to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the electricity (power) sector by 100%, i.e., almost zero emissions by 2030; increase the nergy efficiency in Funafuti by 30%; an indicative quantified economy-wide target to reduce total GHG emissions from the entire energy sector to 60% below 2010 levels by 2030; and zero carbon development pathway by 2050.
This updated NDC also details Tuvalu's adaptation plan set out in its National Adaptation Programme of Action. Urgent and immediate adaptation needs and specific adaptation are being met via coastal, agriculture, water, health, fisheries, disaster, and fisheries projects.
