United Kingdom: Peak district national park - Climate change adaptation report
Climate change will change the nature of the Peak District National Park’s qualities and the nature of opportunities for the public to enjoy. This report sets out the progress of the Peak District National Park in preparing for climate change and presents its future approach to managing and monitoring climate change adaptation. The publication follows the first round report "Adapting to Climate Change in the Peak District National Park" published in September 2011.
The publication explains the approach of the National Park in meeting the challenge of climate change (p.14):
- Incorporate climate change adaptation into the next review of the National Park Management Plan.
- Carry out a climate change vulnerability assessment on 25% of our features.
- Develop a programme of monitoring and evaluation to manage uncertainty and measure the effectiveness of adaptation measures.
