Water security and climate resilient development: Strategic framework
The framework provides guidance to countries on how to integrate water security and climate resilience into development planning and investment decision-making processes. It outlines a phased approach to the development of ‘no/low regrets’ investments and financing strategies, with the aim of supporting climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, particularly floods and drought related disasters, and contributing to job creation, gross domestic product (GDP) and development goals across most sectors – health, energy, agriculture, environment, mining, industry and social protection.
It was developed as part of the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP), an AMCOW programme implemented by the Global Water Partnership.
