FIRE: Integrating Rights and Equality in DRR and climate resilience
About This Course
Human rights and gender equality are core principles reflected in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, yet they are rarely addressed jointly. FIRE is a framework offering an approach to integrating both human rights and gender equality in disaster risk reduction and climate resilience.
The Framework for Integrating Rights and Equality (FIRE) in disaster risk reduction and climate resilience consists of six dimensions which are the focus of this course.
The framework and this course have been developed under the Building Resilience through Inclusive and Climate-adaptive Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia-Pacific (BRDR) Program, and are the result of a collaboration between the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, Stockholm Environment Institute, Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, and Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, supported by Sida.
