This prestigious postgraduate diploma aims to address issues of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation through a multi- and transdisciplinary perspective. This qualification will provide you with specialised skills, which will enable you to apply disaster risk reduction within your specific discipline or area of speciality. This diploma will further enable you to enter (or more effectively continue in) the international employment market. This diploma is on an NQF level 8 (144 credits); equivalent to Hons. Qualification.
This diploma will give students access to enroll for an M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences with Disaster Risk Science (N801P).
• A B-degree, Advanced Diploma, or its equivalent (NQF Level 7 qualification).
• All applications will be strictly judged according to academic merit with an average of 65%. All admitted candidates must attend an introductory and orientation week at the Potchefstroom Campus on a date determined by the Head of the African Centre for Disaster Studies.
