The Australia-Indonesia Facility for Disaster Reduction (AIFDR) is now officially closed. However, the Australian Government, through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), will continue to support Indonesia in the disaster management sector and to build on the success of Australia’s disaster risk reduction program.
AIFDR was officially launched on 15 July 2010 by the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Stephen Smith and the Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. R.M. Marty M. Natalegawa, with a mission to strengthen Indonesia’s capacity to self-manage its own natural disasters.
allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
