The basic research and development policies of the BRI are to:
1) Advance construction and city planning technologies and systematically perform research and development activities for constructing and improving buildings and cities;
2) Quickly respond to issues of major public interest concerning the construction and improvement of buildings and cities

The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
