The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.

A new study by Zurich North America investigates the 2018 floods following Hurricane Florence in North Carolina. Recognising that we will have to adapt to a new standard of "normal" concerning floods, the study shares lessons learned from the disaster and provides recommendations for enhancing flood resilience around the world.
Researchers, non-profit environmental groups, state agencies and others are set to meet next month to discuss coastal climate risks and management strategies to better prepare for storms like Hurricane Florence in 2018. The summit will play a part in the development of the upcoming North Carolina Coastal Climate Risk Assessment and Resilience Plan.
