Mission

EDRI was established in August 1999 by the Ethiopian government with the mission to:

1) Conduct rigorous research and policy analysis that provide knowledge-based inputs to policymaking and policy implementations, and

2) Disseminate its research outputs and findings to the policy and research community, academia, the development community and other stakeholders.

The organization has no registered commitments.

allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.

The cost of adapting to climate change in Ethiopia: sector-wise and macro-economic estimates

This paper uses spatially-explicit analyses of climate change effects on selected key sectors of Ethiopia’s economy to estimate both sector-wise and economy-wide estimates of impacts and adaptation costs.
