The Mountain Partnership is an international, voluntary alliance of partners dedicated to improving the lives of mountain people and protecting their environment around the world. An official UN partnership, it was launched at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002.
Through its advocacy work the Mountain Partnership is heavily involved in raising awareness about the impact of climate change on mountain areas and the consequent increase of natural disasters.

The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
